The Lamborghini Aventador dropped out this year, taking the company’s last traditional V12 powertrain with it. We know it will be replaced by another flagship supercar, this time with a hybrid-assisted V12, but what we can’t be sure of is exactly what it will look like.
We have a few spy photos to guide us though, and German tuner DMC took those, plus some visual ideas from previous Lambo models, to come up with its own visualization of what the next Aventador might look like. It’s called the car Revuelto, a name that we know Lamborghini registered, although it could be used for a completely different model.

If you think the car they came up with looks strikingly similar to the limited edition Aventador-based Sian hybrid when viewed from the front, you’re not alone. The Y-shaped headlights, the cutout in the hood and the combination of a large air intake in front of the rear wheels and a Miura-inspired one behind the side windows, all seem to have been lifted from the Sian in a big way.
As cool as the Sian looked, we hope the Aventador replacement isn’t a copy, but given the number of 2011 Aventador styling cues seen on the 2007 Reventon Murcielago special, we expect the new car and Sian quite similar.
There’s more visual differentiation at the rear, where DMC’s designers placed four tailpipes under a twin bell tailgate and ditched the Sian’s six individual taillights for horizontal LEDs, two styling cues visible on camouflaged prototypes of its replacement. the Aventador we spied on tests.
We are not struck by the red paint – red always seems wrong for a Lambo – and this car is crying out for the diffuser which is chosen in a darker color to break up the mass of one color on the rear which makes the car look thick and heavy from. There’s no way the real Lamborghini designers will make that mistake. And while DMC chose to add a fixed rear wing, we suspect that feature may have been reserved for the more powerful Super Veloce version later.
