The 2024 Ford Mustang has a new ‘Remote Rev’ feature

A new feature is coming to the 2024 Ford Mustang that neighborhoods and parking lots across America will love: Remote Rev!

The name explains well what it is. The key fob allows you to tour the new Mustang remotely after starting it remotely. This essentially takes remote starting your vehicle to another level we haven’t seen before. What problem does it solve, you ask? Well, clear the age-old problem that the actual owner of their vehicle can’t hear their stupid exhaust from where they should be, right behind the loud pipes. Now you don’t have to ask a friend to hit the gas to hear your Mustang roar. Instead, you and your friends can all hang out behind it while sticking a few buttons on the fob to be told it’s going crazy.

Ford says the Remote Rev feature runs a real revving program when you activate it. As far as we know, you press a button after you start the car and your car will roar its music in a preset way. Of course, this feature only works on Mustangs with an automatic transmission – opt for the manual one and you’ll have to do the pedal work yourself.

The new Mustang is available in both a 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder and a 5.0-litre new-generation V8, but it doesn’t matter which engine you choose – they both get the Remote Rev function. Of course, we suspect GT owners will probably enjoy it a little more than EcoBoost owners. And if you opt for a GT with the Active Performance exhaust system, you’ll enjoy even louder revs.
