The Jeep Gladiator is a very capable vehicle. As such, it can be considered cool, even if the overall aesthetic and design, littered with knowing winking Easter eggs, just falls short of self-parody. Way into the realm beyond the pole vault parody is a custom Jeep Gladiator 6×6 built by an outfit called So Flo Jeeps.
As you may have inferred, the company is based in Florida, probably in the south. We found the car on a site called James Edition, which bills itself as “The World’s Luxury Marketplace” and has a little over 50 percent chance of being real.
The vehicle is called the So Flo Jeeps SF 6x6G. Apparently it is powered by a Chevy LS3 engine with 500 horsepower and modified axles and driveshafts that power all six wheels. The ad also states that it was built by carving a 2020 Gladiator, as if that were a selling point. The words “unapologetic”, “aggressive” and “one-of-a-king” are also adjectives that appear in the copy. That’s sic without the k, bro.
The engine “powers the road-legal monster truck at 12,000 ft / lbs. Towing capability.” We hope the company’s building abilities are better than the spelling, grammar, and comprehension of units of measurement. An aftermarket suspension adds 5-inch lift, giving the truck a claimed 14-inch of travel.
The gray coating covering the outside is described as a three part scratch resistant epoxy mixed with Kevlar fiber and is 1/16 inch thick. The preferred method of maintenance is washing with a pressure washer. It has custom fenders, grille, a Predator hood and, of course, de rigueur color-changing halo headlights.
So what’s it like to drive? Well, according to the list, it can handle all off-road challenges and “hit 90 mph on the highway effortlessly and not cross all three lanes”. That sounds like a winner to us, so if you have $ 175,000 worth of fraudulent PPP loans burning a hole in your tactical wallet, this might be the vehicle for you.
