Armored BMW X7 debuts with to be your do-it-all protection machine

Posted on

Inkas manufactures a wide variety of armored vehicles and the latest offering is an armored BMW X7. It comes in six inline variants or two V8 variants (the M50i or Alpina XB7), but a V8 is certainly the best choice with all the added weight in bulletproof vests. External adjustments to the exterior are hardly noticeable, but in the video above you can see that this M50i is equipped with an emergency lighting package.

What you can’t see is the most important thing. Inkas says its armor meets “CEN 1063 BR6 ballistic standard,” which is just nice to speak for the kind of damage it can protect you from. It can withstand 7.62x51mm or .308 Winchester FMJ ammunition. Plus, it survives the explosion of two hand grenades detonated at the same time. You may ask, aren’t the bad guys just using 3 grenades? Don’t worry too much though. You’re safe from those who don’t like to read about armored cars.

There is a preview of all armored bits in the video. You can see the reinforced door seals and thicker glass that Inkas uses. You can also buy a few optional items. Inkas will retrofit the car with sirens, a PA system, air filter equipment, night vision goggles, a smoke screen system and a fire extinguishing system. All these combined will make the BMW X7 a true fortress of protection, as long as you are willing to compromise some of the ultimate driving machine’s lifespan to provide an ultimate protection machine.

Inkas is not yet setting a price online for the X7 conversion, but you can count on it to be quite expensive. An armored Bentayga conversion with just the armor and nothing else will cost you $ 130,000. Start putting on some extras and the price will only go up.
