It’s normal for vehicles to get an update here or there between full redesigns every five or six years, but the changes being made for the 2021 Cadillac CT4 and CT5, each introduced last year, represent more than just a little bit squeeze. For starters, Cadillac’s excellent Super Cruise will hit the option sheets for the two sedans early next year in Enhanced form with Lane Change on Demand functionality. Super Cruise is offered on Premium Luxury and V-Series models only.
As we already knew from early order guides, there is also a new 12-inch digital instrument cluster with driver-selectable themes on the menu for 2021. A traditional Tour theme is probably what most drivers will use as standard, while a Sports theme will. probably contain red accents and performance monitoring readouts and a Stealth theme provides minimal information and what we suspect is non-distracting colors. The CT4-V and CT5-V models will have an exclusive Track theme.
New for the CT5 Sport trim level is a V Performance package with upgraded suspension bits, Magnetic Ride Control and a limited slip mechanical differential. Brembo V Performance front calipers are also optional on Sport models. In addition, a new Diamond Sky special edition package is offered on Premium Luxury CT4 and CT5 models, with interior and exterior styling upgrades and all-season run-flat tires on unique wheels. The package also gets the aforementioned V Performance brakes.
Additional updates include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM with 360L with over 200 live SiriusXM channels and on-demand programming choices, and a console-mounted rotating infotainment button that allows left and right clicks to navigate through the CUE more easily. the infotainment system.
Buckle to Drive is activated at the factory (it can be turned off after purchase) and the driver cannot shift into the drive unless the seat belt is fastened. A Teen Driver mode encourages safe driving for – you guessed it – teenagers. Forward Collision Alert, front pedestrian brake, automatic emergency braking system and the patented haptic Safety Alert Seat are now standard equipment for both sedans.
