Singer unveiled its Turbo Study not too long ago, and today a Turbo Study variant is unveiled, the Porsche 911 Cabriolet, redesigned by Singer.
This is the first time Singer has taken on a Cabriolet project. It came close with the Classic Study of the Targa, but never a Cabriolet. Unfortunately, there are few details about what exactly Singer did to put together the droptop Turbo Study. Most of what we know about it is just similar to what Singer already revealed for the coupe’s standard Turbo Study.
The Cabriolet begins life as a 930 Turbo Cabriolet before Singer reimagines and ‘reinvents’ it all with unique styling and carbon fiber bodywork. You get the turbo body, whale tail spoiler and all, just reworked with a little Singer styling thrown in. Like the Turbo Study coupe, the Type 964 engine is used as the starting point. It is then modified to a displacement of 3.8 liters and features twin turbochargers with electric wastegates. When configuring the car, buyers can choose between a 450 hp or 510 hp specification.
Another big choice to make is choosing between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Suspension performance can be changed so that the car is set up for both high revs and high performance driving. You can also use carbon ceramic brakes if you wish. A six-speed manual transmission is the only option.
The car you see in the photos here is the build of someone who has already configured their Turbo Study Cabriolet. It is painted in Cadiz Red and has seats in ‘Black with Taratan’. The upholstery is the wood accents in Black Forest Red.
As usual with Singer, no price has yet been specified for the new model. Of course, the final price of a car will vary quite a bit depending on how you specify it, so potential buyers should contact Singer about estimated prices for the specific build they want.
