Little D Body Kit turns Suzuki Jimny into Defender wannabe

Posted on

When the new generation of the Suzuki Jimny debuted, it attracted many comparisons. Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Jeep Wrangler, Toyota Land Cruiser, etc. Choose an old-school-style boxy-off-roader, and it would probably work. But a Japanese tuner takes the lookalike equations to the next level, with an emphasis on one of the most iconic off-roaders of all time: the Land Rover Defender.

DAMD Inc., the tuner that has also made a bodywork kit to make the Toyota 86 sports car look like the Lexus LFA supercar, is working on the development of a styling package that makes the Jimny completely Defender. We can not lie, just as we like regular Jimny, this looks pretty cool too.

While the public is waiting for Jaguar Land Rover to launch the next generation Defender, this deceiver will have to do it (for people outside the US – the Jimny is still not available here). The nose changes make the parable impossible to ignore. It adds an extra low beam for the distinctive trio and has a "LITTLE D" mark above the grid that intercepts the Wrangler-like vertical slats for horizontal beams.

It also adds a beefier front bumper with a more prominent skid plate. The mud flaps, knobby tires and off-roady wheels, spare spare wheel and the angled rear bumper finish off the look. The rest of the agreements are already part of the Jimny. The box body, the wheel spouts and the roof cap are part of the standard model.

Besides the images there is not much information about the kit. There is no price, but DAMD notes that it is planned to appear in 2019. That gives us just enough time to leave the country and order a Jimny.
