German tuner Mansory does not frolic in subtlety, and it was no exception for the third generation Porsche Cayenne. It included a tuning program that makes the SUV faster, louder and more flamboyant.
After entering Mansory’s workshop, the Cayenne all-you-can-eat takes turns at the carbon fiber counter. It gets a body kit that includes a front splitter, fender flares, side skirts and a rear diffuser, and most of the add-ons are made from the weight-saving composite material. And 23-inch wheels complete the look. Mansory’s images show the Coupé model, but the standard Cayenne is also eligible for these parts.
Even bigger adjustments can be found in the cabin, where almost everything the passengers touch is covered in leather. Part of it is diamond stitched and all seams are in body color. Carbon fiber trim on the steering wheel and door panels, aluminum pedals and an Alcantara-covered headliner are also part of the conversion and the Porsche logo on the steering wheel has been replaced with a Mansory logo.
When the carbon fiber hood opens, a 4.0-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine is unveiled that develops 700 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque, thanks in part to a modified ECU. Bolted to an eight-speed automatic transmission that spins the four wheels, the eight-cylinder steers the Cayenne from zero to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds, and up to a top speed of 300 km / h. Mansory has fitted a powerful exhaust, so believe it or not, you’ll hear the Cayenne before you even see it. We found the unaltered Cayenne a bit quiet anyway.
Mansory’s version of the third generation Porsche Cayenne is now on sale in selected global markets. Pricing information hasn’t been announced yet, but keep in mind that the tuner’s creations are normally aimed at cash arsonists, not penny pinchers. In the United States, the regular Cayenne has a base price of $ 68,850, after a destination tax of $ 1,350 has been added to the bottom line, while the Coupé model starts at $ 77,850.
