Hot Wheels Legends Tour kicks off new custom car search

One of the most family-friendly car shows in the country, the Hot Wheels Legends Tour, is on its way again from March 16 in Miami. In addition to showing show vehicles that are exclusive to the toy car universe, the tour is also looking for a customized custom car made by fans that can be converted into a scale model with Hot Wheels injection molding.

Equal pieces of rolling playing field, car show and search party, the Legends Tour started last year to mark the 50th anniversary of the brand. It attracted more than 3,600 cars and 65,000 people in general, and this year should be even bigger. The tour starts in March and ends in October, including stops in Miami, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Bentonville, Charlotte, Philly, NYC, Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis, Denver, Seattle, Phoenix, San Jose, San Diego and Los Angeles, in order.

Each stop, set up in Walmart stores across the country, has an abundance of activities for children and families. Hot Wheels offers race simulations, pit stop challenges, photo opportunities and a garden with life-sized Hot Wheels cars.

The showcase continues with a bit of friendly competition. At each stop, judges will choose one custom built car built by the fans that will have the chance to make a Hot Wheels car with scale 1:64. Each finalist wins a trip to the 2019 SEMA Show in Vegas to compete for the ultimate prize. In addition to the fact that a cast version of his or her car is sold all over the world, the winner is also inducted into the Hot Wheels Garage of Legends.
