SEMA is a show that knows no bounds. Flavors and styles vary from tasteful to offensive, with all kinds of vehicles and parts of the aftermarket that rest in between. Honda will bring some interesting but tame (at least by SEMA standards) cars, trucks, crossovers and motorcycles to Las Vegas next week. This 2019 Honda Pilot recently participated in the Rebelle Rally by Honda R & D Americas (HRA) partners Ariel Jen and Melanie Morimoto. The rally is an all-women navigation rally with 1.700 miles over eight days in California and Nevada. The powertrain, from the engine to the four-wheel drive system, was fully stocked. Modifications include skid plates, increased ride height, aggressive tires and an interior that has been modified for additional storage equipment and spare tires.
The Honda Civic Type R TCR is a race-ready version of the most popular part of the Japanese car manufacturer. This car, driven by Ryan Eversley, won the first TCR championship in the Pirelli World Challenge Series. Eversley had five wins and 11 podium places in 12 races. In this application, the 2.0-liter turbocharged in-line four of the Type R produces 340 hp and sends power to the front wheels via a manual six-speed manual sequential gearbox with a JAS double-disc sinter metal clutch. The car also offers improved suspension and brakes.
A few other cars that Honda brings are the new Insight, a Honda-powered F3 Americas open-wheel race car and a Honda pedal car. The latter is 47 centimeters long, 24 centimeters high and 22 centimeters wide and uses carbon fiber in parts of the bodywork. The pedal car has a lithium-ion battery to power the lights and charge things like smartphones.
Honda Powersports brings a number of two-wheeled offers to SEMA, including a few models that return to America after a long break. On its stand you will see a 2019 CRF450R Works Edition, a 2019 CRF450L, a 2019 Super Cub C125 ABS, a 2019 Monkey and a 2018 Africa Twin Adventure Sports.
