Ford F-150 Roush Nitemare claims to be the quickest production pickup

Some trucks are quite fast nowadays, but nobody can claim that they are faster than the newest Roush creation. Called the Nitemare F-150, Roush says the truck can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. Just consider our jaws to stay on the floor.

Roush says it's the fastest production pick-up truck on the market today and that they are technically correct. Calling a highly modified F-150 pickup "production" seems a bit like a piece, but that's Roush's claim. The cooperation between Ford and Roush runs deep compared to other partnerships in the automotive industry. In many cases you can buy Roush vehicles from a Ford dealer. This specific truck starts life as a 5.0-liter V8-equipped F-150, but then Roush goes to town with his TVS R2650 supercharging system that reaches 650 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

Best of all, Roush has made a video (above) that shows the truck launching a drag strip. It's quite creepy to see a pick-up leave with the kind of enthusiasm it does. "Terrifying" is perhaps the right word. However, there is a warning for that 3.9-second time. You can only do this with a normal cab transport vehicle. Roush times the F-150 SuperCrew at a low 4.1 seconds. Boehoe. That's the difference between holding onto a brand new Mustang GT from the traffic light, or seeing the Mustang driver as they pass you by.

Even faster trucks are on the way. Rivian has a number of very daring claims about the acceleration of the top specifications of the R1T. The startup says that 60 miles per hour will be available in just 3 seconds, and we will undoubtedly hear some equally powerful predictions from Tesla when Elon Musk decides to roll the Tesla concept pickup onto a stage. Enjoy the burning rubber and the beautiful loud sounds of this crazy Roush truck for now. It can all be yours for $ 19,150 on top of your donor F-150.
