Florida-based Apocalypse specializes in building trucks that look like they’re ready for, well, the apocalypse. One of the wildest and most powerful builds is a Ram 1500 TRX based six-wheel drive monster called Warlord, and Barrett-Jackson sells one of the few units built.
Ram’s hot-rodded TRX already stands out as one of the most impressive pickup trucks on the market; it is powered by the acclaimed 6.2-litre supercharged Hellcat V8, tuned for 702 horsepower and has a ground clearance of nearly 12 inches. Apocalypse builds on this solid foundation by adding a second set of driven rear wheels, 37-inch tires on all three axles and a 750 horsepower evolution of the Hellcat V8. Enthusiast website Muscle Car & Trucks reports that a custom-designed suspension system has also been built using Bilstein components.
The end result is a behemoth 294 inches tall, 94 inches tall, and capable of towing 12,000 pounds. Visual tweaks include 20-inch wheels, KC lights above the cab, and “WAR” lettering on either end, where you’d expect “RAM.” Inside, there’s black and red leather and suede trim plus a long list of tech features shared with the standard, four-wheel TRX. What’s not included is a stepladder, which you may need to jump into the cab, although power-operated side steps help reduce the size of the jump.
If you want one, you’re in luck: There’s a warlord looking for a new home during the Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale 2022 sale, which runs January 22-30. The truck will pass the auction block on 29 at 6 am mountain time. It is offered without reserve, so the highest bidder will take it home, but don’t expect a bargain. Apocalypse charges $250,000 before taking options into account.
