Superformance ‘Future GT Forty’ to debut at 2018 SEMA Show with turbo engine

Posted on

Superformance has made many GT40 replicas in the past and is bringing a new version to this year's SEMA show using a modified version of the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 from the current Ford GT. No, the car is not built on the chassis of the new GT, but it looks a bit like the GT from 2005 with a touch of the latest version at the front. What makes these Superformance cars special is that they are built on a chassis designed to approach the original GT40 as close as possible. Approximately two-thirds of the steel chassis parts are completely interchangeable with the original car from the 1960s.

This happens to have a weird name, Future GT Forty, but the people at Superformance seem to have created what looks like a great car to drive on paper. The twin-turbo V6 gets Garrett turbochargers and an Aeromotive fuel system. A custom exhaust from Magnaflow plays the tone at the back, while all engine installation work is handled by V & # 39; s Performance. You also get a five-speed five-speed gearbox from Quaife for this beast – guaranteed to be more attractive than the seven-speed double clutch in the current GT. Ridetech Shockwave provided air suspension and HRE wheels were wrapped in sticky Michelin rubber. It is painted and stickered by Superformance and Hillbank Motorsports to complete the effect of the appearance.

Unfortunately Superformance does not offer electricity or acceleration figures for the car. We will drive the Future GT Forty after the 2018 SEMA Show to see what Superformance is capable of making, so watch our first review of drives. In the meantime, you can watch it on the show in the Magnaflow kiosk on 30 October.
