Roush announces Performance Pac 1 for Ford Ranger

Michigan-based tuner Roush gives the Ford Ranger a hefty helping of power for a relatively small amount. The Performance Pac 1 is legal in all 50 states and increases the truck’s horsepower and torque.

You will be disappointed if you expect a pickup that outwits the Mustang GT500; this is not, although there may be one around the corner. Instead, Roush developed a tuning package that makes the Ranger peppy while remaining on the tame side of the performance scale. The bundle consists of a cold air induction kit that replaces the factory air intake and a software calibration of the performance motor made in-house.

Compatible with 2019 and 2020 trucks that burn premium gasoline, the Performance Pac 1 adds 47 horsepower and 65 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels, numbers that bring the turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder horsepower to 317 and 375 rise. the standard Ranger delivers 270 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque.

Roush noted that the cold air intake does not compromise the Ranger’s water supply capability. It added that it designed the parts with Ford CAD data to fit like factory-built components. Aftermarket tuners are a dime in a dozen, but Roush won the confidence of enthusiasts by racing and customizing Ford vehicles for decades. It’s the same company that built a 650 hp F-150 Raptor and a 775 hp stick Mustang.

Pricing for the Performance Pac 1 starts at $ 935, and it’s backed by a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty. Shipping is free and available now, but Roush warns buyers will have an eight-week delay due to massive demand. Once you finally receive the kit, installing it is an easy one hour job requiring only basic tools.

Drivers who want a more powerful Ranger without the immense hassle of importing the Raptor-badged model sold overseas have several other options. Notably, Ford Performance offers a bundle called Performance Package 2 that adds 45 horsepower and 60 pound-feet of torque. Priced at $ 4,495 before installation, it also includes fog lights, BFGoodrich KO2 tires, tow bars, and specific license plate frames. Alternatively, the motor tune is sold on its own through Ford dealers across the country for $ 825.
