Foxconn is gearing up for its entry into the electric pickup segment with the Model V. The EV appeared in a short but revealing video teaser ahead of its October 18 debut.
Unlike other Foxconn vehicles, such as the Model E and the soon-to-be-revealed Model B designed by Pininfarina, the Model V pickup was designed by the Chinese company’s own design studio. This explains why some features are not quite in line with the style language of the above models.
From the side view of the Model V, we can tell that this is a compact double cab pickup, similar to the Ford Ranger, or even smaller. The front features L-shaped LEDs with Peugeot-like fangs on the bumper. The double “H” lighting signature could be a reference to the Hon Hai Technology Group, Foxconn’s parent company.
The grille is covered and probably integrates the ADAS sensors, while the front bumper has a modern pattern on the body-colored parts. Other styling cues we can see are the recessed door handles, the hidden openings in the rear door panel, the F-150 style taillights that appear to be extended onto the tailgate, and the generous ground clearance. Overall, though, the Foxconn Model V doesn’t look as rugged as some of its competitors. We also get a look inside, with a retracting cylindrical gear lever placed on top of the gloss black center tunnel.
The electric pickup will be unveiled on Hon Hai Tech Day 2022, along with the smaller Model B EV. There we will learn more about the specifications.
