When we hear about insanely expensive Nissan GT-Rs, we often assume that the car was a well-preserved R32, R33, or R34 GT-R. But that’s not the case with this R-35 GT-R, which sold for a whopping $205,000 on Bring A Trailer.
To put that into perspective, despite costing just $70,000 when it debuted in 2007, Nissan was charging about $115,000 for a base GT-R by the end of its production run. By comparison, the limited-edition T-Spec sold for about $140,000, and this one, which has only 145 miles on the odometer, went for about $60,000 more than that.
That said, after a bit of digging, it looks like this isn’t that uncommon for the special GT-R. Some examples even go for $20,000 to $50,000 more than this one that sold at auction.
Nevertheless, this is a special car that will probably one day become a collector’s item, so buyers will probably see it as a bit of an investment. This is an end-of-the-line car for the GT-R as we know it, as if it’s being revamped for a new generation, it’ll almost have at least some form of electrification (assuming it’s revamped at all) .
The car is also one of the 100 and has some pretty unique options over the standard GT-R. Apart from the special badging and hood, the car is painted in Nissan’s iconic Midnight Purple paint and has a Mori Green leather interior. Elsewhere, there are golden Rays wheels framing a set of bright yellow calipers.
On top of everything else, of course, the GT-R T-Spec is still a true sports car and comes with an engine to match. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 pumps out 565 hp (573 hp / 421 kW) and 467 lb-ft (633 Nm) of torque, so whatever the reason for purchase, you won’t be disappointed with the performance.
