Wiesmann announced today that customers can register their interest in his “Project Thunderball” and secure a place on the customer reservation list on its website, wiesmann.com.
“Project Thunderball is the car that will take Wiesmann into the new electrified era,” said Roheen Berry, Wiesmann’s CEO. “Since the car was unveiled in April, we have seen an overwhelming response from potential customers.”
An all-electric roadster, the car is made of carbon fiber and weighs just over 1,700 kg (3,747 lbs). The two rear-mounted engines deliver a combined 671 hp (500 kW/680 hp) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque.

That gives it a weight-to-power ratio of 2.5 kg/hp, according to Wiesmann, which will help the car achieve a target 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of 2.9 seconds. Those won’t be the only impressive speeds it can achieve, though, thanks to its 800V battery technology.
That technology will help charge the 92 kWh (83 kWh gross) battery pack at speeds of up to 300 kW on DC fast chargers. Between charges, it can travel up to 500 km on the WLTP cycle.
“The car drives beautifully and our investment in the technology, such as regenerative braking and the latest battery technology, has paid off,” said Berry. “The Wiesmann brand not only has such a legendary and wonderful past and legacy, but also a bright and exciting future ahead of it.”
Customers who order their vehicles now will be first in line for when production begins in 2024 at Wiesmann’s “Gecko” plant in Dülmen, Germany. However, they will need to get their reservations soon as the plan is to build only 1,000 units.
Prices will therefore be quite high, starting at €300,000 ($288,304 USD at current exchange rates).
