Mansory made a lawnmower that’s also a tribute to Air Jordan shoes

German auto customization company Mansory is known for outrageous and polarizing projects at best. But none of them are as strange as this one, the BSTN GT XI. Yes, it is a lawn mower. Yes, that’s the Air Jordan logo on it. No, none of this is a joke. It is the result of a collaboration between Mansory and the sportswear store BSTN.

We will confess that we are a bit behind on this project, which debuted in December. But it’s so strange that we wanted to share it with you anyway because maybe you missed it too. According to Mansory, BSTN wanted to tailor a car to celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary of the Nike Air Jordan basketball shoe. The companies found that the designer of the original shoe took some inspiration from the look of lawn mowers for the Air Jordan XI, and, well, that’s how they came up with this machine. That is also how this mower got its name.

The design is quite typical of Mansory. It has carbon fiber all over; woven pieces for the racing seat, steering wheel and one of the control levers; “forged” pieces of carbon fiber on the nose area. That nose has a huge hood and vents on both sides. Mansory also gave it a custom scale for the bag and, of course, stuck a wing on it. It’s all topped off with white-wall tires and a few BSTN and Air Jordan badges. We’re a bit surprised that Mansory limited to shades of gray, given the company’s history of bright colors.

The lawn mower is a disposable vehicle and does not appear to be for sale. We’re not quite sure if that’s a bad thing because we don’t know if the world can handle much more of this madness.
